兵庫県西宮生まれ。
画才を鈴木松年の高弟湯川松堂に認められ、花鳥画の
ジャンルに特異な境地を開き天分を開華。
一方大阪図案家協会を設立主催。
洋花を採り入れた大胆な花鳥画は装飾画の趣向に新しい画風を確立した。
本品は芸艸堂刊「西洋草花図譜」のオリジナル版木を用い、昭和中期に
インテリア用として再版した木版画です。
