画才を鈴木松年の高弟
湯川松堂に認められ、花鳥画のジャンルに特異
な境地を開き天分を開華。
一方大阪図案家協会
を設立主催。
洋花を採り入れた大胆な花鳥画は
装飾画の趣向に新しい画風を確立した。
本品は芸艸堂刊「西洋草花図譜」のオリジナル
版木を用い、昭和中期にインテリア用として
再版した木版画です。
